Magazines and other periodicals are publications that are published at regular intervals.

Peridicals such as magazines provide information that is more timely than books, since a magazine can be produced in a matter of weeks. Almost anything human beings are interested in can be found in magazines, including:

  • Trade Publications
  • Academic Journals
  • Popular Magazines
  • Hobby Magaines
  • Special Interest Magazines
  • Government Publications

Often libraries will index periodicals according to a system that is different from the book catalogues. Please ask your librarian to show you where the periodicals are located and how to find the articles you need.
