Baptisia australis

Zone 4. Fabaceae. E. U.S.A. False Indigo. Height lM (3’) Spread l M(3’). Much sought after blue flowered plant whose flowers resemble Lupines. Blooms late spring into the summer. Overall plant looks shrub like, with pea like glaucous green foliage. Full sun to partial shade in most any soil, even tolerant of drought.

Bergenia stracheyi 'Alba'

Zone 4. Saxifragaceae. Afganistan, W. Himalaya. Height 23cm (9") Spread 30cm (1'). This is a nice small Bergenia with small rounded leaves and short, dense heads of white flowers showing just above the evergreen leaves in spring. They thrive in dry, poor, difficult spots in sun or shade.

Boltonia asteroides 'Snowbank'

Zone 4. Compositae. False Starwort. Height 1.5M (6') Spread 75cm (2 1/2'). Milky-white daisy flowers cover this plant above finely divide foliage. It is very robust and good as a screen at the back of the border or in the meadow garden. Plant in full sun to part shade in average to dry soils.
