Exclamation Mark ( ! )

This section of Exploring English describes use of the exclamation mark ( ! ) in English punctuation.

Used to provide emphasis:

Quick! Turn left! Now!

Note: Exclamation marks lose their effectiveness if overused. Some writers think that any use is overuse.
