Opportunities For Investors
Shared Visions Unlimited is looking for investors to help issue Limited Edition Prints, especially for the work of Terrence Young and Lou Crockett. Limited Edition Prints can be a good investment, provided the prints can be sold.
The following table provides a simplified view of the investment potential:
| Size of the edition | 400 | Editions can be of any size. We prefer editions of 300 to 500. Robert Bateman will issue editions in the thousands. We will consider larger editions as the market expands. |
| Average wholesale price | $50 | Galleries such as Heritage Canada Gallery offer Terrence Young prints for around $100. Most of the current editions sold out, making the value of the remaining prints potentially much higher. Future editions may wholesale at a higher price. |
| Gross sales | $20,000 | Assuming that all are sold at the average wholesale price. |
| Cost of creating the edition | $2,000 | Includes all publishing costs |
| Estimated cost of sales | $1,000 | It is possible to sell an entire edition to a single buyer, making the cost of sales much less. |
| Profit | $17,000 | Not bad on a $2,000 investment! Please see the Investment Plan below. |
In most cases, we split the edition with one or more investors. The investors have the option of selling some or all of their prints themselves, or receiving payments as we sell the prints. Here is an example with a single investor:
| Size of the edition | 400 | Worth $20,000 assuming a $50 wholesale price. |
| Prints distributed to investors | 160 | 40%, worth $8,000 assuming a $50 wholesale price. Investors can sell their prints at full retail rates, increasing the potential retail value to $16,000 or more. |
| Prints distributed to the artist | 160 | 40%, worth $8,000 assuming a $50 wholesale price. |
| Prints distributed to Shared Visions Unlimited | 80 | 20% for arranging the creation of the edition. |
