Forever Swing National Tour - Presented by Rocket NortonForever Swing

FOREVER SWING is “the” big band musical review set in the mid-’40’s. It follows the fabulous Tommy Vickers Orchestra as it rips into some of the greatest swing-music classics ever written. The band is fronted by fourteen dancer/singers. The audience is treated to eye-popping tap routines, elegant ballroom dancing and high octane swing-jitterbugging. The cast scat and croon their way through song after glorious song and Lindyhop and jitterbug with more energy than a Gene Krupa drum solo. The live on-stage big band is comprised of thirteen of the finest musicians around and has been called the best swing band in America today.

FOREVER SWING had its premier run in the fall of 1998 at Vancouver’s Stanley Theatre. Initially scheduled to play for four weeks, unprecedented ticket sales and audience response led to an eleven week sold-out run and it was brought back to play for the entire summer. Then, FOREVER SWING played the Winter Garden Theatre in Toronto for six-weeks where it received critical acclaim. The 2001 U.S. tour played in Baltimore MD, Victoria BC, Detroit MI, Ottawa ON, Chicago IL, Washington DC, Richmond VA, Norfolk VA, Philadelphia PA and Montreal, PQ and received sensational reviews everywhere.

With exhilarating dance performances and beautiful vocal renditions of more than thirty songs by composers such as Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Louis Prima, Ella Fitzgerald, Glenn Miller, Johnny Mercer and Count Basie, FOREVER SWING leaves audiences standing and screaming for more. It reminds everyone that, It Don’t Mean A Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing.

“Recommended…Fast furious and fabulous fun…The trio of acrobatic “novelty” performers (Ivan “Flipz Velez, Karee & Tyheem Barnes) will simply knock you socks off…

Hedy Weiss, Chicago Sun-Times

“It’s a lively and fun evening of infectious entertainment…one of the biggest hits of the year!”

Vancouver Sun

“Dancers Stephen Lilly and Debbie Timuss shine in a show dominated by the band’s fine musicianship. The gold here is in the luscious tone of the trumpet section and the way you just know, late in the show, that when they wet their lips and lift their trumpets, something good will happen.”

Nelson Pressley, Washington Post

“A charm from beginning to end…moves with flair and pizzazz.”

Gloria Martin, 680 news

“The result is a polished, zoot-suit hoot. A rabble-rousing, crowd-pleasing evocation of exotic swing locales - famous period clubs like the Crystal Ballroom and Copacabana - complete with dancers and a 15-piece orchestra onstage, it moves non-stop.”

Mark Longaker, Arlington Journal

“Regan injects a little circus-style three-ring hijinx with hilarious sight gags, a sexy fire earter, acrobatics and breathtaking break-dancing that is one of the show’s many highlights.”

Denis Armstrong, Ottawa Sun

“Forever Swing is about to wind up a highly profitable six-month, mostly American tour, at Place des Arts from March 28 to April 1...the show has grossed up to $700,000 per week.”

Pat Donnelly, Montreal Gazette

“FOREVER SWING pulls out all the stops. There’s plenty of impressive dancing, a generous helping of vocals, slinky ‘40’s fashion…but nothing - and I do mean nothing - stops this music.”

John Coulbourn, The Toronto Sun

The jiving and lindy-hopping is exhibition class, acrobatic and exhilarating.”
